Cross-play & voice

Proximity voice chat

The server runs proximity voice chat through Discord. Players near each other in-game can hear each other, and the voice fades as you walk away. Nothing to install β€” it all happens in Discord.

Joining

1. Link your accounts first. See Linking your Discord to your character. Voice cannot place you without it.

2. Join the πŸ”Šβ”ƒin-game-voice-chat channel in Discord.

3. Log into the server.

That is all. You are moved automatically into a temporary channel with whoever is near you, and moved back to the lobby when nobody is.

Things worth knowing

  • The lobby is a waiting room. Sitting in πŸ”Šβ”ƒin-game-voice-chat without being in-game is expected β€” the bot moves you once you connect and someone is nearby.
  • Not being moved? You are almost certainly not linked, or not actually on the server. Check both before asking.
  • Leaving the voice channel drops you out of proximity chat. It does not affect your game.
  • Muting yourself in Discord mutes you in-world. There is no separate in-game mute.

Proximity chat is in character. What your character says, other characters hear. Keep out-of-character conversation to text channels.
