Creating your character

On your first join you are placed straight into character creation. You cannot skip it — the world has no concept of a player without a character.

You choose four things:

• First name
• Middle name
• Last name
• Gender

Naming rules

Names accept letters, apostrophes and hyphens only. No spaces, numbers or accented characters. Each part is 1–24 characters and must start with a letter.

• D'Arcy — fine
• Mary-Jane — fine
• Van der Berg — rejected, contains spaces
• Wr3n — rejected, contains a digit

All three name parts are required, including the middle name.

Names are permanent. Changing one later costs money and staff time. Pick something you can live with.

What you do not choose

There is no class, trade or origin to pick. What your character becomes is decided by what they actually do. Nobody is born a blacksmith here; they become one by owning a forge.
